Email Client

The University is now using Gmail as email provider. This is great! Most users will access their email directly from the gmail.com website (web based mail). But you can also use a third party email client on your PC, such as Microsoft Outlook.
You will need the UP Gmail email server settings to do so. The user credentials are the email username and password; which are not the same as the portal credentials.
The settings are:
IMAP
Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
Username: <u01234567@up.ac.za>
Password: <email password>
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS
SMTP
Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing server authentication: Yes
Username: <u01234567@up.ac.za>
Password: <email password>
Port: 465
Encryption: SSL/TLS
