VPN
Some things can only be done when you are on the University network. This typically implies being on the UP grounds and connected to the University network via the LAN / network cable. These include using LDAP, seeing UP network connected devices, making Backups of your data on the UP network and using network printers. This is however still possible if you are off campus by using a VPN. Tuks uses OpenVPN software for this.
It is important to note that the WiFi connection is seen as "off campus". If you want to print to the common EBIT printer, but are connected via the WiFi, you will not be able to.
