Departmental backups

It is good practice to backup regularly, and we are trying to make this easy for everyone in the Chemical Engineering department by utilising a system already in place at Electric, Electronic and Computer Engineering. In order to facilitate this, you need to do a few things:

  1. In your "My Documents" folder, create a folder called BackedUp and move all the things that you want to be backed up into this folder. Please do not include things like personal photographs, movies and music files, as we have limited space for backups. If you don't have such files in "My Documents", let me know and I can arrange to back up your whole "My Documents".
  2. Once you have done this, send me your IP address (see Finding your IP address)

When I receive the e-mail with your IP address I will send you a password. You will need this to set up the backup software, following the instructions at the EERC website
