Sage
Sage is a free open-source mathematics software system licensed under the GPL. It combines the power of many existing open-source packages into a common Python-based interface.
Installing on Windows
There is no native Windows executable for Sage, so to install it on your computer you have to use a virtual machine.
Download these files from the UP mirrors:
First install VirtualBox by double-clicking the install file and following the prompts. You should now be able to double-click the OVA file you downloaded and import the virtual machine into VirtualBox. The virtual machine will now appear under the list of machines when you open VirtualBox. Click the "Show" button (with the green arrow) to start the machine. Once the virtual machine has booted up, it will display a mesage saying "point your browser to http://localhost:8000" - You will have to open a browser and type that URL into the address bar. If all has gone well, you will see the Sage Notebook.
Installing on Mac
Download this DMG, double click it and drag the application to Applications.
