Mathworks has released a PDF version of a textbook on the use of Matlab for numerical problems. This documentation uses files in the [http://ragnarok.up.ac.za/manuals/matman/ncm.tar.gz NCM], a collection of Matlab files for teaching Matlab and doing certain things easily. The chapters are available locally: (note that slight changes in syntax and GUIs may be present in later versions)
